    • Mabada: View the mosaic that is believed to be the earliest surviving map of the Holy Land.
    • Day 1 – Your journey begins

      Board your overnight flight to Europe (not included).
    • Day 2 – Welcome to Cairo

      Welcome to a country rich in wonders and mysteries. You are met at the airport and transferred to your hotel.

    • Day 3 – Cairo & the Great Pyramids of Giza Experience

      Gain a deeper understanding of the last remaining Wonder of the Ancient World during a guided tour of Giza! Meet the enigmatic Sphinx crouching at the foot of Chephren’s causeway and venture inside one of the magnificent Pyramids. Nearby lies Memphis, capital of the Old Kingdom, see the colossal statue of Rameses II and great alabaster sphinx. Continue to Sakkara, view the Step Pyramid of Zoser I; dating from 2686BC, it’s the oldest in the world. Then free time to enjoy as you wish. This evening, get to know your Tour Director and fellow guests over a welcome drink at the hotel. Later, take your seats at the magical Sound & Light Show at the Great Pyramids which literally illuminates the history of Giza – an unforgettable introduction to the world of ancient Egypt!

    • Day 4 to 7 – Cruising the Nile in Style

      Fly to Luxor and transfer to your cruise ship. After lunch onboard, visit Luxor Temple unearthed by Mariette in the 1860’s. Continue to the huge temple complex of Karnak. Walk through the avenue of Ram-headed sphinxes to stand among the columns of the Hypostyle Hall. The next morningrelax as you gently cruise along the Nile, past palm fringed villages and irrigated fields, to exotic Aswan. But before leaving Luxor, there is an excursion by coach to the westbank, which includes a photo stop at the Colossi of Memnon and visits to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut as well as some of the royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings. As you drift up-stream stops are made at ancient sites along the way.These include the well preserved temple of Horus, dedicated to the Falcon God at Edfu as well as the Kom Ombo Temple. On arrival in Aswan, an included sightseeing tour shows you the High Dam and unfinished obelisk in the granite quarries. It also includes a motorboat ride to the Philae Island Temple complex and sailing in a traditional wooden Nile felucca. As the sun starts to fade, enjoy high tea in English colonial style on the terrace at the historic Old Cataract Hotel, a favourite haunt of Agatha Christie, who is said to have penned “Death on the Nile” over the café’s signature drink. While cruising breakfast (BB), lunch (L) and dinner (D) are served daily and one night you get to celebrate Egyptian style at a galabeya party and dinner.

    • Day 8 – Aswan at leisure and back to Cairo

      Why not join an optional excursion by air to the magnificent Temples of Rameses II at Abu Simbel? Otherwise, spend the morning as you wish. There is lots to enjoy; the Botanic Gardens, Elephantine Island, the Aga Khan Mausoleum or soak up the African atmosphere in the Nubian bazaar. Later, transfer to the airport for your return flight to Cairo for over night.

    • Day 9 – From Cairo to Amman

      Begin your city sightseeing at Tahrir Square – the sprawling urban space that became famous over 18 historic days of protests. Now on to the world-famous Egyptian Museum. Star among its attractions is the amazing treasure recovered from Tutankhamun’s tomb. Sightseeing continues at the Citadel where you enjoy breathtaking views over the whole city. Salah El Din started the Citadelin the 12th Century, but it owes its present outline to Mohammed Ali whose great alabaster mosque you visit next. Late afternoon, transfer to the airport for your flight to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, a landscape that has changed little in the last 2,000 years. On arrival at Amman Airport, you are met and transferred to your hotel. Join your Jordanian Tour Director for a Welcome Reception with drinks and a light informal meal.

    • Day 10 – To Jerash, the Pompeii of the East & on to Petra

      The trip to Jerash reveals the most beautifully preserved example of a Greco-Roman city still in existence. Enter through Hadrian’s Arch, to explore the grand ruins of the temples of Artemis and Zeus, where you can listen to the Whispering Column, and overlook the vast Oval Plaza, and Cardo Maximus, the main Roman road. Return to Amman for a city tour seeing the huge Roman Amphitheatre and the Citadel Hill. After some free time, continue south to the UNESCO listed site of Petra – voted as one of the ‘New Seven Wonders of the World’.

    • Day 11 – Exploring the Lost City of Petra

      Today is devoted to this beautiful ‘rose red city, half as old as time’. The approach to this lost city is through a narrow gorge, the Siq, whose walls rise up 200 metres. Emerge from the path to see the magnificent Treasury, carved out of solid rock and standing over 40 meters high. Wind your way through the canyon to explore the Roman Amphitheatre, which once seated 3,000 spectators, and the ancient tombs.

    • Day 12 – Along the King’s Highway to Shobak, Mt. Nebo, Madaba & Amman

      Follow the King’s Highway to visit Shobak, an authentic 12C crusader fortress, perched on the side of a rocky mountain, standing guard over a barren and desolate land. Admire the Arabic calligraphy on the external walls and towers before discovering the original Crusader chapel, palace complex and even a set of secret passages! Continue to Mt Nebo, one of the most revered holy sites of Jordan, where Moses stood and saw before him the Promised Land. At Madaba visit the famous Greek Orthodox Church of St. George with its amazing 6th century mosaic map depicting the entire Holy Land – from Jordan and Palestine in the north, to Egypt in the south. Now return to the Jordanian capital where you are at leisure.

    • Day 13 to 14 – Optional Dead Sea Extension

      Transfer to the Dead Sea for its warm, soothing mineral-rich waters. The likes of Cleopatra have luxuriated in its black stimulating mud. Pamper yourself at your resort which offers a wide range of treatments to soothe the body and mind. (BB,D / BB,D)

    Full Day Alexandria
    A full day excursion to historic Alexandria including the National Museum, the well preserved Roman Amphitheatre, the Roman Catacombs, Quayet-Bey Fortress and Pombey’s Pillar. Later, we visit the Mosque of Abdul Abass and the gardens at Montaza surrounding a former palace of the Royal family.     Abu Simbel Excursion by Air
    Excursion to Abu Simbel from Aswan to visit the fabulous reconstructed temples of Ramses II and Nefertari. The journey by air takes approximately forty minutes in each direction and allows approximately seventy-five minutes at Abu Simbel to visit the temples and the impressive concrete dome.
