The legacy of this wealth can be seen in beautiful baroque churches and buildings throughout the city. The legacy of this period is not just in buildings and monuments. The slaves for the plantations were brought from Africa, along with their cultural heritage. As they adapted to the New World, this gave Bahia its unique flavour. [B]
