Training and Education
On-going training and development is critical to our Fine Travel Consultants being able to provide the high level of personalized service our clients’ value. Remaining current with travel trends and offerings requires attendance at supplier events but there is nothing like experiencing the adventures first hand. Supplier hosted ‘famils’ and your personal travel is encouraged. To help you manage your business while you are away we have a ‘buddy system’ that ensures you clients are looked after while you are enjoying your travel experience.
Two day courses are provided on the systems in the event that the Fine Travel systems are different to those used in the past. In addition we provide in-house training and coaching on Fine Travel sales processes and techniques to help you improve close rates and margins.
Day to day hotline and online assistance is provided to help Travel Consultants with the ‘how to’s and we encourage the sharing of information which adds to a vast knowledge base among our team.

I CAN’T WORK FOR MYSELF; I DON’T HAVE A CLIENT BASE!
When joining Fine Travel you don’t need an existing client base. We will work with you to develop a joint business plan which will cover the marketing and sales initiatives to help you establish and grow your client base. In addition we have leads that we allocate to our broker partners based on their business plan and their capacity. All you need to do is let us know you are ready to receive those leads. -
WHO WILL HELP ME WITH MARKETING?
Fine Travel has invested in the latest technology to help our travel broker partners attract new clients and retain existing clients. You will need to be involved in the planning, measurement and follow-up. We do the rest. -
WHAT ABOUT STATIONERY, BUSINESS CARDS, TICKETS WALLETS?
As a Fine Travel Consultant you will be operating under the Fine Travel brand. We will therefore provide you, at no cost, all the Fine Travel branded stationery, business cards and tickets wallets you need. -
WHAT IF I WANT TO TAKE AN AFTERNOON OFF, GO ON A HOLIDAY OR A FAMIL?
This is a common question for anyone going into business for themselves.At Fine Travel we firmly believe in maintaining a work/life balance and continuously learning. Therefore, being able to take time away to unwind or go on a ‘famil’ is very important.
At Fine Travel you will be working with a network of other Fine Travel professionals, each of whom will be in a similar position to you. When you need time away from the office we will work with you to arrange for either one of the Fine Travel employees or one of the other Fine Travel professionals to cover for you.
We also operate a central reception area where your calls can be diverted so you can be assured that all calls are being answered and dealt with as you would wish.

WHAT ABOUT THE FINANCIAL REQUIREMENTS OF IATA AND ALL THOSE REQUIREMENTS?

I HAVEN’T WORKED FOR MYSELF BEFORE. WHAT ABOUT THE ACCOUNTING, GST AND INCOME TAX REQUIREMENTS?
We recommend that you engage a Chartered Accountant to discuss your business obligations and answer any questions you may have. You will then be responsible for filing GST returns, paying provisional tax and filing an annual income tax return.In practice, once these obligations become routine, you will find them straight forward.
