I absolutely love to travel and some of my favourite and most memorable destinations include: Paris, Singapore, Bahamas and Rarotonga. I am from the UK originally so over the years have flown to and from the UK on several airlines, both by myself and with young children.
My absolute favourite type of holiday is cruising. I have cruised on several ships including: Rhapsody of the Seas, Voyager of the Seas, Dawn Princess, Pacific Princess, Pacific Pearl and my favourite ship of all Queen Mary 2. For those who haven’t tried it, I definitely recommend giving it a go!
I can’t thank you enough for planning such a beautiful holiday for me… The hotels were nice and at terrific locations and I felt so safe with the kids.
The hotel service was nice as well and the timing of the flights were awesome.. thanks for thinking of my small kids when booking the holiday as they slept most of the way on long flights which was awesome.
I’ll definitely be coming to you for all my travel needs.
“Do you have any holiday packages going on Fiji around October?? From 18th Oct onwards.
I can really recommend the Aroa Beachside Inn to couples or anyone on their own. Only 11 units and breakfast at the Shipwreck Shack meant you could be as sociable as you wanted. And they did a pub meal on an evening and also barbecues twice a week, with entertainment 3 times a week. Even the young couples took part!
Very pleasant accommodation. All beautifully clean. On wonderful beach with the best snorkelling (I reckon) in Rarotonga.
Jim the host is quite idiosyncratic and I can see some people might not like his robust style. But his business partner Jan counteracts that.
The place is for sale so who knows what will happen next. I certainly hope to go back.
So thank you for your recommendation and services.
Well the holiday was lovely and relaxing. I read 3+ books. The Natadola Beach Resort is about 20 years old and very clean with spacious rooms and en suites. The manager Bob is helpful and a very nice guy. Food everywhere in Fiji is expensive and it was the same here. We ate at the Intercontinental often as it was right next door. The meals were nice but again expensive for what you got. One night Rick had the Fijian Buffet F$90 but it was beautiful.
Swimming at Natadola is superb and Rick snorkelled for an hour at a time, seeing lots of colourful fish of many varieties. Weather was cloudy every day except one and that was when we went to Robinson Crusoe Island on a day trip, so that was lucky.
The downside was I picked up a bug and just made it home before I had days of rampant diarrhoea which left me drained of energy. I have now recovered thank goodness.
Thanks for your interest in our holiday and if there was anything specific you wanted to know please email.
Anne and Rick
P.S. If any wonderful deals come up 2014 for Canada – Rockies and Alaska preferably with Air NZ direct to Vancouver business class, you could flick it through.
Yes thank you. We both had a lovely, relaxing holiday in Vanuatu. The climate was perfect; we enjoyed lots of walks, kayaks and great meals. I thought the accommodation in our Fare at Iririki Resort needed some TLC, but we were comfortable, spent time on the balcony and one or two slight problems were handled very quickly by the staff. I am very pleased I have experienced Vanuatu and staying on the island was definitely something different. We took a taxi ride one afternoon and drove through a village where the local people lived – Vanuatu seemed a very poor country. However, it was noticeable how happy they were, no cross words or shouting. Everyone seemed very helpful.
We look forward to our next October holiday – I wonder where we will go!
Kind regards and thank you for organizing this trip for us.
Yes, we had a very nice holiday in Vanuatu thank you.
Sue has probably told you about the resort. At first we were a bit shocked at the age of our little fare’ at Iririki Resort but in saying that it was very clean and that I think is the most important thing. The towels were changed every day and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The shower wasn’t very good and the coffee/tea making facilities very minimal – two cups, two saucers, one teaspoon. That is the only two things I could grumble about. I have learned that Iririki Resort is the only resort owned by the local people though the management is outsourced, my guess being to Australia. It is good that the local people own the resort and you could see they were putting a lot of effort into it. Most nights there was some background entertainment at dinner time and on Sunday a men’s choir sang while we had breakfast. The meals were all very nice and all the staff friendly and chatty.
Now I’m back at work the holiday seems a long time ago. Hopefully we will have a week away next year, to some nice warm tropical island.
I hope all is well with you.
Thank you for emailing me. I was planning to email you but have been so busy at work trying to catch up after my Vanuatu holiday.
The trip was awesome. We enjoyed it so much. The food was average but the people and the culture more than made up for it.
We were treated like royalty at Irikiki Resort. The staff were actually amazing over there. Would definitely go back and recommend to other people.
Thanks Jennie for all your help in making this trip so smooth and being there to answer all my queries, you have been a GEM.
The Pacific Sun cruise was great thanks. Food was excellent and so was the service. In fact the only complaint was the fact that we had to purchase our lanyards (which were AU$8) to hang our cruise cards and key on.
Thought this was a rip off and they should have been free. Our port of calls changed – Ouvea as you know was out of bounds due to unrest but we also could not go to the Isle of Pines (I was very disappointed about this) as the commander on the island would not let the ship dock due to swine flu. We went to Lifou instead which was very pretty. We would do it again – I personally would like to do a bigger ship and to travel in summer time.
Might have to wait though as I plan to go back to UK next year. Just a thought do you ever get deals on cheap flights????
Thanks again for all of your help.
Thanks for your help in organizing our trip to Rarotonga. We had a wonderful time and recommend the Little Polynesian but only if you have the upgrade to a beach front Bungalow (which we got for two nights at a little extra cost).
Thanks for all your tips we enjoyed a nice meal at the Tamarind House and I actually ended up going over to Aitutaki (I think that’s how its spelled) for the day. It was expensive $450 whereas I think there were specials for around $550 to go and stay two nights at a resort but I wasn’t sure If I would ever get back there so wanted to see the island.
Anyone going to the Rarotonga I would recommend they either do the Mountain Hike or Nature Walk with Pa…he is a very unique individual and made our trip to Rarotonga very special.
I fell in love with Rarotonga so definitely want to go again.
Realised I never let you know how our trip to Plantation Island was – we loved it.
The accommodation exceeded our expectations and the beach was fantastic.
Thanks for all your help organising our holiday.
